Maria Ivanova Published in The Conversation
The Center for Governance and Sustainability is proud to announce that Maria Ivanova’s latest work on the upcoming UNFCCC COP21 was published in The Conversation; it is titled “Paris Climate Summit: Why More Women Need a Seat at the Table.” In the article, Professor Ivanova briefly discusses the current dearth of women at the highest levels of climate policy-making and why more should be included as representatives, thought leaders, and voices of climate change.
Professor Ivanova then launches into the profiles and accomplishments of what she refers to as the top 15 female climate champions. These champions include UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figurers, World Bank Vice President and Climate Change Envoy Rachel Kyte, and the Permanent Secretary of the Nigerian Environment Ministry Fatima Nana Mede.
