June 28, 2009: Opening Dinner for the Global Environmental Governance Forum

Swiss Dinner. SocializingTonight the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment hosted an opening reception and dinner at the Fairmont le Montreux Palace, Montreux. The event was an exciting chance for many Forum participants – a group that spans four generations – to come together for the first time and to learn more about each other before the official start of the Forum. To this end, every dinner table included at least one founding architect of the global environmental governance system, one emerging leader, and one GEG Secretariat member.

The dinner was also an opportunity for the GEG Project to formally thank sponsors for everything they have done to make the Forum possible. This is truly an historic gathering and there is a tangible sense of excitement about what the next few days hold in store.
